My name is Austin, and I have been cutting gemstones for the last four years. What started with a 3 hour drive to 9pm Facebook Marketplace rendezvous to buy my first faceting machine has turned into the fulfillment of a lifelong dream to turn rough stones that other people would glance over into a beautiful works of art.

My journey to get here has been a long and not so typical one. My original career was nursing, and I travel nursed throughout the pandemic as well. With the long hours and the stress of the job, I decided to finally pursue a hobby that had long piqued my interest, faceting! After getting my first machine, I was hooked. With much trial (and much error), I fell in love with the art and technique that went into turning an unshapen piece of rough into what we call gemstones. And here we are today, four years later. From designing unique facet diagrams that best captures each individual stone, to polishing in the final facet, every day, I still continue to love the process from start to finish.
